• Typically start by preparing the surface by cleaning it and ensuring it is smooth and free from any loose or flaking paint. by sanding with an abrasive paper.
• Fill any holes or cracks with a suitable filler, for walls, we recommend Polycell Trade One Fill Filler as it is quick and easy to use.
• Seal bare or porous surfaces with Craig and Rose 1829 Vintage Colours Undercoat.
• Lightly abrade any previously painted surfaces to allow the paint effects to adhere.
• Ensure the surface is clean and free from any dust, dirt, or grease.

It's advisable to test the paint on a small area or sample board before applying it to the entire surface to ensure you are satisfied with the result.

• Stir the paint thoroughly, if using more than one tin combine the Artisan Effect into one container.
• The first two coat can be applied with a synthetic brush and a long pile roller.
• Allow each coat to dry for four hours.
• For the final coat work in small sections and apply using the long pile roller.
• Use a trowel at a 60° to 80° angle and work in sweeping strokes.
• Repeat the process across the entire wall ensuring to keep the trowel clean.
• Apply 3 coats using the same process.
• Applying additional coats will enhance the depth and appearance of the finish.
• Allow the final coat to dry 2-4 hours but no longer than 24 hours, use a 600 grit sandpaper to lightly polish the surface in a circular motion.
• Use the edge of the trowel to further polish the surface, be careful not to gouge the surface with the edge of the trowel.
• For further protection of the finished concrete effect seal the surface with a clear varnish.

Q. Do I need a decorator to apply Craig & Rose Concrete Effect Paint?

A. Simply put no, you do not need a decorator to apply this decorative effect. The application method is more complex than standard emulsion however Craig & Rose have formulated these paints for use by all. It's advisable to test the paint on a small area or sample board before applying it to the entire surface to ensure you are satisfied with the result.

We recommend ordering samples or colour charts before purchasing. While we strive to represent colours accurately, screen settings and surface types can affect appearance. Opened tins cannot be returned due to dissatisfaction with colour.

Faulty Items
