Craig and Rose 1829 Vintage Colours Eggshell is a highly versatile paint for woodwork and walls. This high-quality, water-based, eggshell can be used on skirting boards, window frames, doors, trim and cabinets however it's also ideal for areas that get moisture and humidity such as bathroom and kitchen walls. The high level of wear and durability this paint offers means it can be applied to all high-traffic areas such as hallways and children's bedrooms.

Always ensure the surface you will be applying Craig & Rose Eggshell to is clean, dry and free from any contaminates.

Walls

• Fill any holes or crack in the wall with a suitable filler such as Polycell Trade One Fill Filler then sand to a smooth surface.
• New plaster will need to cure prior to application of paint we recommend allowing them to dry between four to six days. After the plaster is dry apply a mist coat.
• Clean and lightly sand previously painted surfaces to ensure adhesion.

Woodwork

• Fill any cracks or holes in the surface using a suitable filler such as Polycell Wood Filler.
• Prime the surface with one coat of Craig and Rose 1829 Vintage Colours Undercoat.

Colours may vary on screens therefore we always recommend testing your chosen colour prior to application. Craig and Rose 1829 Vintage Colours are available in tester pot sizes so you can test the colour at home.

• Stir the paint well to ensure you get a consistent colour throughout application.
• Apply using a good quality synthetic brush, for woodwork we recommend a foam or short pile roller and for walls and ceilings use a short or medium pile roller.
• Walls and Ceilings - Apply the edges using a brush and fill the remaining space using the roller.
• Woodwork - You will just need a brush for most woods for larger surfaces such as sils use a 4-inch roller for best results.
• For best results when cutting in use an angled brush or high-quality tape such as Frog Tape for Gloss and Satin Paints.
• Craig & Rose Eggshell will require two coats, allowing 4 hours between each coat.
• Touch dry in only 2 hours which gives minimal disruption to busy family homes.
• The paint will be fully cured in 7 days.

Always ensure to follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

Q. Is it better to use eggshell or flat matt wall paint?

A. Eggshell paints will always be more hardwearing than matt paints which makes them better for use in high traffic areas including bathrooms and kitchens. In the rest of your home it is entirely up to personal preference Eggshell paints will have a higher sheen and will reflect light more however you will not be left with shiny walls as it is still less than a silk of gloss paint. Flat matt paints will have a matt or chalky look that often help to hide imperfections.

Q. Do I need an undercoat with Craig & Rose eggshell paint?

A. This will depend on the surface you are painting, for previously painted walls you can apply the Craig and Rose Eggshell directly to the surfaces. For wood or new plaster, we recommend using Craig and Rose All Purpose Undercoat.

  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you.
