Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer Paint- Tinted Colour Match

Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3® can be tinted towards your top coat colour, to help overall coverage. Please enter the colour of your top coat in the box provided.

The colour will not be an exact match of the top coat, it will be the correct shade of primer suitable for the job.

Zinsser Bulls Eye is an all surface water-based primer and sealer for use on interior and exterior surfaces. A ‘bond coat’ primer, it is ideal for hard-to-stick surfaces, giving excellent adhesion without sanding.

Tinted Colour Information

Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Zinsser tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay.

Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order.

A tinted primer can be used to help obtain the true depth of colour for your top coat or to reduce the amount of coats required when a drastic colour change is occurring. A tinted primer will not necessarily be the same colour as your selected topcoat. It will be tinted towards the topcoat colour and generally lighter in shade. For example if your topcoat is black your primer may be a shade of grey. If you are unsure about when a tinted primer is required please contact us and we can advise further.

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, algae, fungi or moss. Also ensure the product is free from excessive chalky material, grime, grease, oil, wax, mould or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion.

• Always wash the surface with a household cleaner, appropriate cleaning solution, or solvent. Clean new galvanised metal with methylated spirit
• Always ensure to remove loose or flaking material
• Sand any remaining paint to a smooth surface
• Sand exterior wood with a 80-100 grit sandpaper
• When sealing a stain always attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible prior to application
• New plaster should be sealed with Zinsser Gardz
• To remove mould, treat area with Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover
• Treat knots and sap streaks with Zinsser B-I-N Primer-Sealer

Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

Stir thoroughly before applying and test a small area to ensure colour and adhesion.

Q. Why are tinted primers a different shade to the top coat?

A. Tinted primers are often a different shade than the top coat paint for several reasons:

• Enhanced Coverage: The primary purpose of a primer is to provide a uniform base for the top coat. A tinted primer, while not an exact match to the top coat, is typically formulated to be a complementary colour that helps improve the coverage of the final paint.
• Improved Adhesion: Tinted primers help improve the adhesion of the top coat by providing a surface that is more compatible with the colour and texture of the final paint. This enhances the longevity and durability of the finish.
• Colour Enhancement: The tint in the primer is chosen to enhance or complement the top coat colour, helping to bring out the true hue of the finish. In many cases, this will result in the primer being a slightly lighter or different shade to avoid altering the final colour's vibrancy.
• Sealing and Stain Blocking: Tinted primers often have added stain-blocking properties, and their colour may be adjusted to help conceal underlying stains or imperfections. The lighter shade can provide better concealment without interfering with the top coat's appearance.
• Full Top Coat Coverage: The primer's colour is intentionally different to ensure complete coverage of the top coat, enhancing its appearance and ensuring the surface benefits from the top coat's protective properties.

In summary, the tinted primer’s purpose is to improve the finish, not to match the top coat exactly, which is why it may appear as a lighter or different shade.

Q. Can Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 be painted onto ceramic tiles?

A. Yes this is the recommended product for ceramic tiles, we would not recommend painting tiles in constant contact with water such as shower areas. These areas would wear quickly, however this paint will withstand humidity making it perfect for other areas in your bathroom or kitchen.

Q. Can Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 be applied onto glossed surfaces?

A. Yes! This can be applied onto the glossed surfaces without sanding.

Delivery

All orders placed on a working day before 3pm will be dispatched on the same day for next working day delivery. Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £3.99 for express delivery. We strongly suggest customers avoid booking tradespeople until they receive their order. Next Day Paint will not be held liable for any costs incurred due to order processing errors, delivery delays, or other issues that may result in financial loss.

Special Delivery

You can now choose some special delivery options. 

• AM Delivery: Get your order by 2pm
  If placed on a working day before 3pm, the AM Delivery will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 3pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday AM (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day for delivery on the following AM. All orders have a charge of £12.99 for AM delivery.

• Late Cut-Off: Get an extra hour to place your order for Next Working Day delivery.
  Orders placed on a working day before 4pm will be dispatched on the same day for Next Working Day delivery. 
  Orders placed before 4pm on Friday will be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays). Orders placed on weekends and Bank Holidays will be dispatched on the next working day. All orders have a charge of £5.99 for Late Cut-Off delivery.

• Saturday Delivery: Get your order on Saturday
  Option available on Fridays. Orders placed on Friday before 3pm will be delivered on Saturday. All orders have a charge of £9.95 for Saturday delivery.

Exceptions

We do not deliver to the Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland

Returns

We offer a 14 day money back guarantee for all goods shipped correctly that are not required. If the item is not required, please send the item back for a full refund in its original condition, unused with its original packaging. Please note return for unwanted item is at your own expense.

We always recommend getting samples or contacting us for free of charge colourcharts. We do our best to represent colours as accurately as possible however screens variations and different surfaces can alter this. Unfortunately in the event you do not like the colour we are unable to accept the product back if they it has been opened.

Faulty Items

If you find a fault with your product, we can offer a full refund or exchange within 30 days. We test every product that is returned to us, sadly if a product is found to have no fault we cannot refund this and the you will be given the option to have this returned to you. Please get in touch to discuss these options. If you find fault after 30 days of purchase you may wish to contact the manufacturer directly as they will be able to offer support with the product.
