Overview

Hammerite Red Special Metals Primer is a water based red primer, formulated for galvanised metal, aluminium, chrome, brass, copper and stainless steel. An easy to use product that provides a smooth even finish ideal for top coat adhesion, it’s easy to clean after use and has low VOC Levels. This special metals primer is ideal for use on BBQs, fire surrounds, garage doors, garden furniture, radiators, railings and more.

Clean Up	Remove as much paint as possible from the equipment before cleaning with water

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from any dust, dirt, grease, flaking paint or rust.

Use a wire brush or sand paper to remove flaking paint, loose rust and gloss .
Treat any rust patches with Hammerite Kurust.
Degrease the surface with a detergent solution then rinse with clean water and allow to dry.

Application

Before applying the Hammerite Red Special Metals Primer test a small area to ensure it adheres to the surface.

Do not apply when there is a risk of rain, frost or if temperatures fall below 5°C.
Stir thoroughly before use.
Apply 1-2 coats as required.
Touch dry in 30minutes (depending on weather conditions).
Can be top coated after 2 hours.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer instructions found on the tin.
